In Bed: Thoughts On My Future

As I lay here in my bed, I just wonder of how many times my mind has traveled to the future. Too many times my mind has changed the storyline, and the undying fantasy is ever evolving, but nothing truly ever happens the way my thoughts predict. I often see myself in interviews, giving a humorous acceptance speech, directing a movie, having lunch with a famous actor, or even seeing the views of my next video skyrocket. And some of those things will come some day, I just know that it won’t be on MY time, and the specifics of how I’ll get there will differ greatly from what my mind draws out.

I try not to think too much of the future, because I know it’s a waste of time. But sometimes it just brightens my day, and it actually helps me to exercise my imagination. My only concern is not living up to my own expectations, which are extremely high. But when you are ambitious and determined to write your own legacy, and on top of that you have God by your side, anything is possible. I just try to keep my head up after every failed attempt, and I convince myself, that just as Thomas Edison, I have simply discovered another way of how NOT to make a lightbulb. Which means I’m one step closer to shining bright.

Never giving up is what I live by, and my faith keeps me focused on what’s truly important. I do lose motivation on occasion but I’m only human, so that’s hardly abnormal. I just know that when the time is right, the fruits of all I have sowed will start blossoming. That day I will look back on these thoughts, as a reminder of who to thank, and as a silly memory of what I ‘thought’ was almost unreachable.
